Wen-Sinn Yang - Violoncello

19 - 24 July 2021

A delight in the unknown as well as his ceaseless research distinguish Wen-Sinn Yang as one of the most versatile cellists of today. In his concerts he not only brings the music of 19th century cello virtuosos such as Adrien François Servais or Carl Yulyevich Davidow back to the stage, but also exposes his audience to modern composers such as Aribert Reimann and Isang Yun. In addition to his work as an internationally acclaimed soloist under conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Lorin Maazel and Mariss Jansons as well as with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony, NHK Tokyo and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Wen-Sinn Yang is also sought-after as a chamber music performer. Since 2004 Yang has been teaching as professor for cello at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich and also regularly gives international master classes. His wide-ranging repertoire is documented on over 30 CDs.
