Equality and diversity at the HfM Weimar

At the University of Music, we are committed to a pluralistic, equal society and see diversity as an enrichment. We therefore develop strategies and measures to make diversity visible and to promote and ensure equal rights and participation for all.

Everyone should have the same opportunities, regardless of age, gender and sexual orientation, cultural and social background, religion, political views, disability, chronic or mental illness. We are committed to offering equal development opportunities, eliminating existing disadvantages and improving the compatibility of study, work and family.

Discrimination, harassment and violence have no place at our university! We honour and respect the diversity of all university members and do not tolerate verbal or physical attacks of any kind.

In particular, we want to work towards promoting women in underrepresented areas. Our goal is therefore to increase the proportion of women in artistic and academic professorships to 30 per cent by 2030.

Another important concern is to effectively support our numerous female graduates in their further qualification after graduation and thus increase the proportion of women in top positions.
