Austrian artist Eszter Haffner, who has Hungarian roots, is one of the most exciting and respected violinists of our time. For over 30 years, she has been thrilling audiences worldwide with her unmistakably rich and warm tone, her outstanding musicality, and her extraordinary interpretations. She maintains close artistic relationships with the most renowned conductors and orchestras. Always open to expanding her musical horizons, Eszter Haffner is also an internationally sought-after violist and conductor. Her social missions and tireless commitment to the arts and to the Republic of Austria were honored in the summer of 2021 with the state award “Grand Decoration of Honor in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria in the Field of Art.” In 2024, she also received the Golden Culture Prize of the Province of Lower Austria. In 2023, she was appointed professor of violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). Since 2000, she has been professor of violin at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG). In addition, she is a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music in London, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Oslo Academy of Music, the conservatories in Shanghai and Beijing, the Shanghai Middle School, JMC Jerusalem, and the Tianjin Middle School. Eszter Haffner has been a jury member for numerous international violin competitions and is a regular guest at renowned international universities and music academies in Europe and overseas.
