Application documents

Applications for all degree programs and subjects at the Institute of Musicology Weimar-Jena must include the following documents:

  • The application form created in the online portal or the corresponding form for students with a core subject at the FSU Jena
  • Certificate of university entrance qualification or the semester reports of grades 11-12 available to date
  • If applicable, certificate of an already completed undergraduate degree program
  • If applicable, a list of previous study and examination achievements (transcript of records), especially in the case of a change of university or if the university certificate is not yet available at the time of application
  • Tabular curriculum vitae
  • Letter of motivation outlining the reasons for your choice of study, professional ambitions, etc. (Applicants for the M.A. Musicology and M.A. Cultural Management degree programs should also state the profile in which they wish to study and why)
  • Foreign applicants must enclose a certificate of sufficient German language proficiency (TestDaf 4 or DSH 2) as well as all other (official) documents in officially certified translations
  • Applicants from the People's Republic of China must submit the original certificate from the Beijing Academic Examination Center (APS)
  • Please note: If you do not have the required level of German language skills at the time of your application, you can submit this by 1.4. or 1.10. at the latest. It is not possible to study Musicology or Cultural Management if you do not yet have the necessary German language skills.
