Per Lundberg (Sweden)

The pianist Per Lundberg was born in Stockholm 1962 but grew up in Norrköping. He studied at the Swedish Broadcasting School of Musik at Edsberg manor outside of Stockholm and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna where he gained his soloist’s diploma 1985. Per Lundberg is internationally active as both chamber musician and soloist and has performed with the major Swedish symphony orchestras. He was i.a. the first to perform Lutoslawski piano concerto in Sweden with the Gothenburg symphony orchestra recorded by the Swedish radio. Lundberg is regurlarly engaged by the Swedish radio for recordings and concerts and is a member of the well known Trio Poseidon together with 1st concert master Sara Trobäck and solocellist Claes Gunnarsson in Gothenburg Symphony orchestra. The trio recorded Beethoven Triple concerto at the label Chandos with the Gothenburg orchestra and Neeme Järvi, a recording that was invited to “the Hall of Fame” in the American newspaper Fanfare. Lundberg has also collaborated with the trombonist Christian Lindberg and is also to be heard in the Swiss ensemble Duo Leonore.
In 2023 Lundberg was jury member for piano trio in the ARD competition in Munich.
Per Lundberg had a position at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Edsberg for over 25 years but is now professor in chamber music and as collaborative pianist at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo since 2013.
