Wen-Sinn Yang | Violoncello

17 - 22 July 2023

A delight in the unknown and his ceaseless research distinguish Wen-Sinn Yang as one of the most versatile cellists of the present day. In originally moderated concerts, he not only brings the music of 19th century cello virtuosos such as Adrien François Servais or Carl Yulyevich Davidow back to the stage, but also opens his audience up to modern composers such as Aribert Reimann and Isang Yun. In addition to his work as an internationally acclaimed soloist under conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Lorin Maazel and Mariss Jansons and with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony, NHK Tokyo and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Wen-Sinn Yang is also a much sought-after chamber music partner. Since 2004, Yang has been teaching as professor for cello at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and also regularly gives international master classes. His wide-ranging repertoire is documented on over 30 CDs.
