Jörg Brückner was born in Leipzig in 1971 and developed a passion for music at an early age. At the age of 14, he attended the special music school "Belvedere" in Weimar.
He then began three years of studies at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar with Prof. Rainer Heimbuch and Prof Karl Biehlig, as well as with Prof. Hermann Märker in Leipzig.
After beginning his career as 3rd horn in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur in 1992, he joined the Dresden Philharmonic as solo hornist in 1997. In 2008 he moved to Munich, where he were as solo hornist of the Munich Philharmonic for 11 years with principal conductors Christian Thielemann, Lorin Maazel and Valerie Gergiev.
His professional biography is characterized by many solo appearances with the Munich Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, but also the Leipzig Bach Orchestra and the Dresden Chamber Orchestra.  
Orchestral substitutions on the solo horn have already taken place with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Orchestra of the Hessischer Rundfunk, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Orchestre National de Paris, the Concertgebow Orchestra Amsterdam and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.
Since 2006 his professional focus is at the University of Music FRANZ USZT Weimar, where he holds the professorship for horn.
