The Romanian-born composer's musical career began with his first engagement in the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra in Cluj-Napoca. He then became solo double bass player in the Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia - and finally solo double bass player at the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra from 1992 to 2003. At the same time, Dorin Marc began teaching at the University of Music Nuremberg in 1998, which appointed him Professor in 2003. Both in his home country, where he studied at the University of Music in Bucharest, and internationally, the musician has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Special Jury Prize in 1979 and 2nd Prize at the ARD Music Competition in Munich in 1985. Dorin Marc has given concerts throughout Europe, regularly gives master classes and is a sought-after adjudicator. His students are prize winners of international double bass competitions and were successful at the ARD competition, among others. Website
