Christian Wilm Müller (Germany, vice jury chairman)

The younger generation of artists lies close to his heart. From 2008 to 2017, Prof. Christian Wilm Müller was with great success the artistic director of the centre for highly gifted students at the music secondary school at the Belvedere Palace in the Weimar Musikhochschule. At the same time he also teaches a piano class in Weimar. This pianist and educator gives regular master classes for piano and piano chamber music in Europe, the USA, Japan and South Korea. Müller studied under Volkmar Lehmann in Weimar and Oleg Maisenberg in Vienna and Stuttgart. He also names Detlef Kraus, Menahem Pressler and Ferenc Rados as additional notable teachers. Concert tours as a soloist as well as a song accompanist and chamber musician (in particular the Liszt-Trio Weimar) have led him across Europe, to Australia, Iran, Japan and South Korea. As a soloist he has performed with the German Symphony Orchestra in Berlin, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Baden State Orchestra in Karlsruhe as well as orchestras in Gotha/Suhl, Meiningen and Thessaloniki. He has also been a guest at various music festivals.
