Tang Zhe
Zhe Tang is a teacher at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and began his teaching career as one of China's youngest piano professors. He has since been appointed Deputy Dean of his university, Director of the Piano Department as well as Chairman of the Piano Department of the middle school associated with the institute. Zhe Tang is also Chairman of the Shanghai Professional Pianists' Society, Artistic Director of the Shanghai Spring International Piano E-Competition as well as Artistic Director of the Shanghai International Piano Festival & Institute. Zhe Tang graduated from the Eastman School of Music in the USA under Barry Snyder. He has won numerous awards and prizes, including the silver medal at the Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition. An active performance career has also led him to concerts as a soloist with orchestras such as the China Philharmonic and the Shanghai Symphony. These appearances were broadcast across Chinese national television and radio, reaching roughly 900 million people. Zhe Tang has given recitals, concerts and master classes in over 30 countries - and is a sought-after juror of international piano competitions. He is also a recipient of the Grand Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Chinese government.
