Valentina Codognotto studied literature and philosophy at the University of Bologna.

She teaches Italian for opera at the University of Music “Franz Liszt” in Weimar and was a member of staff at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin from 2004 to 2017.

As a language coach, she has been working with opera productions and festivals for many years, particularly in the field of the Baroque repertoire.

From 2018 to 2020, she was a research assistant at the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg as part of the Digital Mozart Edition – Libretti & Texts. In addition, she conceived and produced the Monteverdi Digital Text Edition.
