- Studied Musicology, Jewish Studies, Protestant Theology and Contemporary German Literary History in Berlin, Potsdam, Wurzburg and Erlangen
- Gained a Magister Artium from the University of Würzburg in 2013, with a master’s dissertation on the relationship between early Christian and synagogue-based singing
- Worked alongside his studies, including for Universal Music Berlin, on marketing the Deutsche Grammophon, Decca und Archiv Produktion labels, in the communications department of the Deutscher Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, as a young academic at the Max Planck Institute for Academic History in Berlin, as a student worker at Siemens AG and as an intern at the Jewish Museum in Berlin
- Since 2009, he has worked as a freelancer in the fields of music pedagogy, church music and arts management
- He has been a research fellow and doctoral candidate in the professorship for the History of Jewish Music at the Department of Musicology of the University of Music Weimar and the University of Jena since 2016, with a doctoral project on Relationship between music and religion in the work of Jewish and Christian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries
- His other research interests include Jewish popular musicians in the Weimar Republic, the history of research into Jewish music and the relationship between Judaism and Christianity, from both the historical and systematic perspectives
