Lukas Hagen - Violin & Chamber Music

23 – 29 July 2023

The Hagen Quartet is legendary - and even 40 years after its foundation it is still a guest in all important concert halls and festivals in Europe, Asia and America. It has been first prize winner of international competitions and has recorded roughly 45 CDs exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon over the last 20 years. Of the original four siblings, three are still present, including Lukas Hagen as the primarius of the world-famous string quartet. Born in Salzburg, he studied at the Mozarteum University, receiving private lessons from Gidon Kremer. Since 1999 he himself has been professor for violin and chamber music at the Mozarteum. Lukas Hagen sits in the juries of international competitions and gives masterclasses worldwide. Besides the quartet he also spent seven years as concertmaster in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and is a founding member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.
