Midori - Violin

23 - 31 July 2021

Not only is she an international star but also a “Messenger of Peace“: The exceptional violinist was called to this title in 2007 by the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon. Since then this Japanese violinist has tirelessly travelled the globe to the biggest orchestras, chamber music platforms and for her social projects. In December 2018, she also travelled throughout Vietnam with the International Community Engagement Program (ICEP) of her non-profit organization Music Sharing. In the season 2017/18 Midori celebrated her 35th stage anniversary. Her debut, at the age of eleven, was with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra in 1982. For a long time now she has continued to impart her art: since 2004 she has had the professorship for violin and Jascha Heifetz Chair at the University of Southern California. In September 2018, she moved to become professor at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
