Luka Juhart is a musician, accordionist and teacher. For years, he has dedicated himself to collaborating with contemporary composers, commissioning new works, entering into creative dialogues with them and performing at least 60 world premieres to date, many of them as a soloist. He regularly collaborates with Uroš Rojko and Vinko Globokar. The accordionist has performed as a soloist in two of Globokar's monumental works, among others. He enjoys improvising and has been composing for chamber ensembles since 2013. Juhart often refers to poetry in his compositions, entirely in the spirit of contemporary performance practice, which is always in the service of a holistic performative effect of the work. Luka Juhart has played in renowned concert halls such as: Alice Tully Hall in New York, Konzertsaal im KKL Luzern, Royal Albert Hall, Musikverein Wien, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie de Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Tonhalle Zürich. He works regularly with the Zavod Sploh Institute, which focuses primarily on improvisation and underground music. He also performs at prestigious European festivals. Juhart has also played with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, Windkraft - Kapelle für Neue Musik and Ensemble Aventure. Luka Juhart is an associate professor of contemporary music at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he also directs the Studio for Contemporary Music.

Course: open to soloists and/or ensembles

Playing - researching - experimenting: Luka Juhart and Uroš Rojko look at their profession from a universal perspective in search of the expression of versatile artistic possibilities. What drives the artist in people? They formulate their answers from their in-depth knowledge of their subject with an open mind.
Both courses are organised on a modular basis: The participants decide on the content. This includes Classical instrumental or composition lessons both as soloists and in ensembles, improvisation lessons, an experimental laboratory, etc.Joint group lessons are encouraged, as are prepared compositions by Luka Juhart and Uroš Rojko.
