Ensemble Recherche
Since 1985, the members of ensemble recherche have dedicated themselves to the new and the unknown. Over a period of more than three decades, with over 600 world premieres and around 50 CD recordings, the Freiburg ensemble has shaped the musical present and written music history. The eight musicians are united by a great desire to experiment and an enthusiasm for the intensive examination of the present. The ensemble recherche is regularly invited to Europe's most renowned festivals and has performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Elbphilharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Venice Biennale, the Donaueschingen Music Festival, the Darmstadt Summer Courses and Wien Modern. International concert tours have taken the ensemble to Israel, Japan, China, Russia, Mexico, the USA and South America. In collaboration with both young and established composers, ensemble recherche sets impulses and has a significant influence on the development of contemporary music. Website
