Ingolf Turban – Violin

25 – 30 July 2022

"The longer it goes on, the more clearly I feel it is a grace to be able to deal with it both in concert and in teaching," says violinist Ingolf Turban about music. Be it the Berlin Philharmonie, La Scala in Milan or the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein: no stage is too big or too famous for Ingolf Turban. He has performed as a soloist with such luminaries as Yehudi Menuhin, Charles Dutoit, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta, recorded 40 CDs and gives around 50 concerts a year. Born in Munich, Turban became first concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra of his home town as early as 1985. A year later he made his debut under Sergiu Celibidache. In 2005 he founded the chamber orchestra I Virtuosi di Paganini. He taught at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts for eleven years before being appointed professor of violin at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich in 2006. Website
