Composition section

Contemporary music is an important focus of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar in the education of young musicians. In keeping with the spirit of its namesake, the university has been promoting new and contemporary music in the areas of composition and interpretation throughout its 150-year history.

The establishment of a studio for electro-acoustic music underlines the will to offer the broadest and most varied range of courses possible. For many years, the Weimar Music University has also offered jazz courses.
