Eugene Skovorodnikov, Canada

Audiences throughout Europe, Canada, the USA, Asia and Russia recognize Eugene Skovorodnikov for his stylistic interpretation and his technical brilliance. Eugene Skovorodnikov took his post-graduate course at the St. Petersburg conservatory (Russia) and taught there himself until 1990, when he left the country. In 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Musical Arts by Kharkov State University of the Arts in Ukraine for his achievements in performance and teaching. From 1991 to 2011, Eugene Skovorodnikov has been teaching with the piano faculty at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and starting in 2010 he became Artistic Director of the Vancouver International School of Music White Rock and Langley. As a pianist, he was invited to perform in many famous concert halls around the globe such as St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, Chan Centre for Performing Arts (Vancouver), Theatre Bibiena (Mantova, Italy), Grand Theatre (Shenzhen, China), Xinghai Concert Hall (Guangzhou, China), Centre for the Performing Arts (Kfar-Saba, Israel) and Ghione Theatre (Rome, Italy). Eugene Skovorodnikov acted as a jury member at many piano international competitions such as the “Chopin Prize Rome Piano International Competition” (Italy). Furthermore, he is the President and Artistic Director of Music Encore Concert Society.
