  • Born on 3rd April 1963 in Königsee (Thuringia)
  • First piano lessons at the age of six; later lessons on the oboe
  • 1979–1984 Studies in Opera répétiteur training and Piano at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • Prize winner of various competitions
  • Diverse practical training, including the Opera Studio of the Semperoper in Dresden
  • 1983–1984 Trainee at the German National Theatre in Weimar
  • On completion of his studies in 1984 engagement as a répétiteur, from 1986 with conducting duties
  • 1983–1987 Additional studies in orchestral conducting
  • 1983–1987 Part-time opera répétiteur at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • Commencement of numerous concert activities above all as a song accompanist as well as pianist and cembalist in various chamber groups
  • Since 1989 Teacher at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar in the Department of Conducting and Opera répétiteur studies (subjects: Opera répétiteur studies and Piano score reading)
  • 1994 Awarded the title of professor
  • 1995–2001 Deputy Rector of Artistic Activities in the university
  • Concerts both in Germany and abroad; diverse radio and CD productions
