- 1979–1984: Degree in Church Music under Professor Rainer Böhme at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
- 1984–1988: Additional degree as part of graduate studies under Professor Johannes Schäfer, Director of Church Music
- 1983: Active participation in the ‘Prague Masterclasses’ under Professor Milan Slechta
- 1984: Fourth place in the ‘Prager Frühling’ (Prague Spring) international organ competition in Prague
- 1984 to present: Lecturer in Organ at the Halle/Saale Protestant University of Sacred Music
- 1985–1994: Choirmaster and organist in Bad Frankenhausen
- 1994 to present: Organist at the Predigerkirche in Erfurt, artistic director of the organ concert series and co-founder of the ‘Domberg-Prediger’ international organ competition
- 1995 to present: Lecturer at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
- 2000: Appointed as Director of Church Music

- October 1999 – ‘Chor und Orgelmusik der Romantik’ (‘Choral and Organ Music of the Romantic Period’) with works by Peter Cornelius (Mass in D Minor for mixed choir and organ/ first recording) and August Gottfried Ritter (Sonata in D Minor op. 11) recorded by the ‘Johann Friedrich Reichardt’ university choir of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg (conductor: Jens Lorenz, Director of University Music) and Matthias Dreißig in Halle’s Laurentiuskirche
- July 2003 – ‘Laudes Organi’ with works for choir and organ by Zsolt Gardonyi, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Floor Peeters, Ottmar Machá and Zoltan Kodály, recorded by the Augustiner-Kantorei of Erfurt (conductor: regional director of church music, Dietrich Ehrenwerth) in Erfurt’s Augustinerkirche (Augustine Church)
- April 2005 – Solo organ CD for the ‘Motette’ publishing house in Dusseldorf
