Prof. Clemens Tiburtius

Clemens Tiburtius (born 1966) studied jazz singing under Professor Ines Reiger Dominik (Vienna) and completed his training with the concert diploma at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.

In Dresden, he taught jazz singing and improvisation at the ‘Carl Maria von Weber’ University of Music.

He has won an award at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin (Federal Singing Competition Berlin), second prize at the Bader Wettbewerb (Bader Competition) in Hamburg and the Reynolds Talent Award for jazz singing.

He has played leading roles in an array of theatre productions, such as ‘Boris Pasternak’ at the Stanislawski -Theatre in Moscow, ‘Tony’ in ‘West Side Story’ at the Düsseldorf Theatre  and in Dresden, and Marburg, ‘Ari Leschnikoff’ in a production of ‘Die Comedian Harmonists’ at Staatstheater Kassel, Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Oper Chemnitz, Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall, Schlosspark Theater Berlin, Tipi am Kanzleramt Berlin and the US rock ’n’ roll musician and singer, ‘Buddy Holly’, in a production with Chris Howland.

As a jazz singer, he has appeared with the Clemens Tirburtius Quintet, the SH Big Band, Apassionata, Jazz in the House and Power Unit in Germany, the UK, France, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Hungary, New York and San Francisco.

Since 2006, Clemens Tibertius has taught singing (jazz/pop), vocal physiology and ensemble conducting (Latin/jazz) at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.
