Julia Keidl studied at the HfMT Cologne and the University of Cologne (Bachelor of Arts), majoring in LIP (song accompaniment/improvisation/score playing), and at the HfM Leipzig, majoring in jazz singing (Master of Education).

At the HfMT Cologne, she taught students in individual and group lessons in LIP from 2018 to 2019. At the Gewandhaus Leipzig, Julia Keidl worked for the Young Children's Choir starting in 2019, teaching 2nd-4th grade children solmization, ear training, and harmony.

Afterwards she worked among others in the MDR music education, organized school tours with the MDR symphony orchestra and MDR radio choir and is host of the project "Schütz macht Schule", a free project for school classes from grade 5 in the school year 22/23. In parallel she teaches school practical piano at the HfM Mainz since 2021.

She sang as a soprano in a Cologne pop a cappella band, with which she received numerous national and international awards. Project-wise she tours with her bluegrass band, in which she plays double bass and sings in harmony.

In 2020 she composed the song "Zusammen sind wir stark" for SSA and piano accompaniment for the MDR Children's Choir, which is available from Hofmeister-Verlag Leipzig. 2022 saw the creation of the children's song "Wann endet der Krieg?" (When will the war end?), which is available free of charge on request to all interested parties. The goal is to give children a voice in the conversation about war and to make it easier for educators to communicate with children about the topic of war.

As a solo artist with piano and voice, she regularly performs her own songs and recorded her album keep on sailing in 2017.

Since the winter semester 22/23 she has been an artistic assistant for practical piano playing at the Department of Music Education and Church Music at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.
