Study information:The Thuringian Opera Studio is a postgraduate programme run in partnership with the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar, the German National Theatre Weimar (DNT), the Erfurt Theatre, the Nordhausen Theatre and the Altenburg Gera Theatre, with plans to resume the programme at the start of the 2025/2026 season. The programme offers young, highly talented singers the opportunity to gain professional experience on the opera stage. Upon proof of successful completion of the course, a certificate will be awarded.
Degree:Thüringer OpernstudioStandard period of study:2 SemesterContent:Students work on specific roles in new productions and in the repertoire, and regularly appear on stage in the theatre’s performances. They attend classes at the university.
Prerequisite:University degree with a major in singing and a passed aptitude test, as well as a vacant position in one of the cooperating theaters.

Degree:NEW: Master of Music, 120 CP - Enrollment starting in 2026Standard period of study:4 SemesterContent:A major in the arts, supplemented where applicable by compulsory modules related to the major in a core area, with the option to tailor the programme to individual interests by selecting relevant compulsory-elective modules in the specialisation area

Study information:The Postgraduate Artistic Programme – Concert Diploma is designed to deepen and broaden the artistic abilities, skills and knowledge acquired during the previous course of study, with a particular focus on artistic refinement at the highest level. The Concert Diploma is equivalent to a doctoral degree.
