Substitute professor of piano

Einav Yarden studied with the legendary pianist Leon Fleisher at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and graduated with honours. She had previously studied in Tel Aviv at the Rubin Music Academy with Professor Emanuel Krasovksy. She was also taught by the pianist Elisso Virsaladze, Richard Goode and Professor Zvi Meniker (on historical fortepianos).

As a soloist, Einav Yarden has performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Minnesota Symphony, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt/Oder, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, the Bucharest Philharmonic, the Calgary Philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony and the Rockford Symphony, under conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Aldo Ceccato, Leon Botstein, Frédéric Chaslin, Stefan Blunier, David Greilsammer, Horia Andreescu, Simon Halsey, Mendi Rodan and others.

Their current CD ‘Father and Son’ with works by C.P.E. Bach and J.S. Bach was released in May 2023. The CD was nominated for the ‘Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik’ and selected as ‘Album of the Week’ by RBB - and received many enthusiastic reviews in international music magazines. Other of her solo recordings on the Challenge Classics label have also received excellent reviews in international music magazines such as Grammophone, Fono Forum, Diapason, Pianist Magazine, Piano News Magazine, Rondo Magazine, Amadeus and others. She received the prestigious German Record Critics' Award (Bestenliste) for her CD of Haydn sonatas.

Among the major venues where Einav Yarden has performed as a soloist are the Philharmonie Berlin and the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie Berlin, the Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall and the 92nd Y in New York, Phillips Collection in Washington DC, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, the Beethoven-Haus Bonn, the Salle Cortot, Auditorium of the Musée d'Orsay and the Grand Salon of the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris.

Einav Yarden has also performed at renowned festivals such as the Ruhr Piano Festival, the International Piano Festival La Roque d'Anthéron, the Festival Piano aux Jacobins, the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, the Ravinia Festival, the Menton Festival and at the Flâneries Musicales de Reims.

Einav Yarden will teach as a substitute professor of piano at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar from October 2024. Since the winter semester 2023/24, she has been a lecturer for piano at the State University of Music Trossingen. In 2021, she taught as a substitute professor for piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main, before that she taught piano chamber music at the Music university Freiburg from 2016-2018. From 2012-2017, she was a collaborative pianist at the renowned Ravinia Steans Music Institute of the Ravinia Festival in the USA.

Einav Yarden has won prizes at various competitions. In 2009 she won 3rd prize at the International Telekom Beethoven-Competition Bonn, and in 2006 she was one of the prizewinners of the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition. Her recordings are broadcast by radio stations worldwide. She lives in Berlin.
