    Das Kernfach Musikwissenschaft ist mit dem Ergänzungsfach Interkulturelles Musik- und Veranstaltungsmanagement oder dem Ergänzungsfach Musikpraxis bzw. mit einem Ergänzungsfach aus dem Angebot der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena kombinierbar.

    Das Studium vermittelt Grundlagenwissen im Fach Historische Musikwissenschaft und wird ergänzt durch Einblicke in die Systematische Musikwissenschaft, Transcultural Music Studies sowie die Geschichte des Jazz und der populären Musik. Im Rahmen des geisteswissenschaftlich orientierten Studiums fließen zahlreiche Inhalte aus Forschungs- und Kulturprojekten ein.

    Studieninteressierte können im Kernfach Musikwissenschaft zwischen den Vertiefungsmodulen „Künstlerische Praxis“ und „Wissenschaftliche Methodik“ wählen.

    allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur), bestandene Eignungsprüfung, Nachweis des Sprachniveaus C1 (für ausländische Bewerber*innen)

    Es findet keine Eignungsprüfung statt, ein Informationsgespräch wird angeboten. Bei Wahl der Vertiefung  Künstlerische Praxis wird zu Beginn des Studiums eine Modulzugangsprüfung im Nebenfach Klavier abgelegt.

    Das Ergänzungsfach Musikwissenschaft ist nur mit einem Kernfach aus dem Angebot der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena kombinierbar.

    Als grundlagenorientiertes Fach eignet es sich für alle Studiengänge im breiten kultur- und verhaltenswissenschaftlichen Bereich.

    Insbesondere Grundlagenwissen im Fachbereich Historische Musikwissenschaft sowie Fragestellungen und Methoden des Faches als historisch-interpretierende Disziplin werden vermittelt. Ergänzend hierzu wird das Bewusstsein für Fragestellungen der Ästhetik, der Systematik, der Ethnologie wie auch für einen reflektierten Umgang mit dem Phänomen Musik geschärft.

    Die Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar (HfM) verleiht im Fachgebiet Musikwissenschaft durch die Fakultät III den Grad des „doctor philosophiae“ (Dr. phil.).

    Prerequisite:

    abgeschlossenes, fachlich einschlägiges Magister-, Staatsexamens-, Master- oder wissenschaftliches Diplomstudium, mindestens mit dem Prädikat "gut"; ausländische Examina werden bei gleichwertigem Abschluss anerkannt
