Das Kernfach Musikwissenschaft ist mit dem Ergänzungsfach Interkulturelles Musik- und Veranstaltungsmanagement oder dem Ergänzungsfach Musikpraxis bzw. mit einem Ergänzungsfach aus dem Angebot der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena kombinierbar.
Degree:Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - core subjectStandard period of study:6 SemesterContent:The programme provides fundamental knowledge in historical musicology and is supplemented by insights into systematic musicology, transcultural music studies, and the history of jazz and popular music. As part of this humanities-oriented programme, numerous topics from research and cultural projects are incorporated.
Prospective students can choose between the specialisation modules ‘Artistic Practice’ and ‘Scientific Methodology’ in the core subject of musicology.
Prerequisite:General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), passed aptitude test, proof of language level C1 (for foreign applicants)

Aptitude test period:There is no aptitude test for the core subject of musicology.
Aptitude test:Es findet keine Eignungsprüfung statt, ein Informationsgespräch wird angeboten. Bei Wahl der Vertiefung Künstlerische Praxis wird zu Beginn des Studiums eine Modulzugangsprüfung im Nebenfach Klavier abgelegt.
Wird das Ergänzungsfach Musikpraxis gewählt, findet eine separate Eignungsprüfung statt.

In addition to this, awareness of questions of aesthetics, systematics and ethnology as well as a reflective approach to the phenomenon of music is sharpened.

Prerequisite:Subject-specific bachelor's or diploma degree, proof of language proficiency at level C1 (for international applicants), aptitude test passed (music theory and music practice profiles) if applicable

Degree:PromotionStandard period of study:keine RegelstudienzeitContent:Die Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar (HfM) verleiht im Fachgebiet Musikwissenschaft durch die Fakultät III den Grad des „doctor philosophiae“ (Dr. phil.).
Prerequisite:Completed, relevant Master's degree, state examination, Master's degree or scientific diploma, with a minimum grade of ‘good’; foreign examinations are recognised if they are equivalent to a German degree.
