Slide Adventure
New Trombone Festival in Weimar from 15-17 November with guests from Würzburg
A new trombone festival in Weimar is aimed at a particularly broad target group: on the weekend from 15 to 17 November, trombone enthusiasts will meet for the first ‘Slide Adventure’ in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.
The invitation is open to students, amateurs from trombone choirs and associations, as well as students and professionals. This offers them a unique opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and make music together.
The artistic and organisational direction is the responsibility of Weimar's trombone professor Christian Sprenger. Different guests are invited to the annual festival. This year, Prof. Sprenger's invitation was accepted by colleagues from the Würzburg University of Music: Prof. Andreas Kraft, Norbert Daum and the Würzburg trombone class are guests in Weimar.
Registrations are now possible via the International Trombone Association (IPV) at the email address slide-adventure-weimar(at)ipv-news.de.
Concerts by the Weimar and Würzburg trombone classes and all participants are planned for the three days in November. There will be public lessons with the students and their professors, as well as joint warm-ups.
The festival begins on Friday, 15 November at 6:00 p.m. with the opening concert. It culminates on Sunday, 17 November at 5:00 p.m. with the final concert. Both concerts will take place in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus at the Music University in Weimar, and admission is free.
On 16 November, the Association for Central German Trombone History will offer a thematic focus for the festival: Sebastian Krause, Stefano Perini and Dawid Seidenberg will present historical trombones and their history.
The focus is also on the promotion and training of young trombonists with a musical presentation by the trombone class of the Music High School Schloss Belvedere and the trombone class of the Jena Music School with their teacher Antonio Yeste Martinez.
