The "6th International FRANZ LISZT Competition | Young Pianists" has started
A total of 37 participants from around 20 countries have travelled to Weimar: The first round of the "6th International FRANZ LISZT Competition | Young Pianists" in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar began on Thursday, 26 October. Until 5 November, the young talents will compete in three rounds and two age categories for prizes with a total value of more than 10,000 euros. All rounds are open to the public with free admission.
Starting with the second round on Monday, 30 October, the competition will also be livestreamed on the university website www.hfm-weimar.de and on the university's YouTube channel.

At the final concert of the competition, the prize-winners will perform with a large orchestra on Sunday, 5 November at 17:00 in the Weimarhalle. Tickets are 20 euros (reduced rate 15 euros) and can be purchased in advance at the Tourist Information Office in Weimar and at the box office.
The orchestra of the Music High School Schloss Belvedere will play together with musicians of the Staatskapelle Weimar under the direction of Joan Pagès Valls.
The competition is organised by the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar together with the Musik High School Schloss Belvedere as its centre for highly gifted students.
