FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar awards 42 Germany Scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year

More than ever before: thanks to the active support of foundations, companies, and private sponsors, a total of 42 Germany Scholarships can be awarded for the current academic year at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar. During a ceremony in the Red Salon of the ALTENBURG on Wednesday, January 21, the scholarship recipients officially received their certificates from University President Prof. Anne-Kathrin Lindig.

The scholarship recipients will receive 300 euros per month from October 2025 to September 2026. The scholarships, half of which are financed by private donors and half by the federal government, are awarded for proven outstanding artistic, educational, or scientific achievements before or during studies, or for special successes. Social engagement and special personal and family circumstances are also taken into account in the selection process.

Once again, one of the largest scholarship providers this academic year is the Ernst Freiberger Foundation. It is awarding a total of ten Christoph Stölzl Germany Scholarships. The recipients are Mikhail Verkhoglyadov (voice), Erika Cherkez (violin), Emilia Andresen (viola), Victoria Ohnimus (cello), Emily Hoppe (harp), Tatevik Meliksetyan (flute), Tanya Starykh (horn), Arild Niels Lauritz Hansen (school music), Kseniya Orlova (accordion), and Ben Lepetit (piano).

The Vera and Volker Doppelfeld Foundation is also awarding ten scholarships to Nataliia Zhelezniak (voice), Liza Bukia and Can Sarac (piano), Rodrigo Gonzalo Pandorfa Garrido (violin), Marlene Ju (viola), Sarah Magdalena Trommler (school music), Beatriz Ferreira Pinto (guitar), Erik Schumacher (piano and orchestral conducting), Leonhard Friese (accordion), and Armin Bacher (horn).

The NEW LISZT FOUNDATION / Romy-Gohlke-Stiftung is also providing ten scholarships. Its support goes to Klara-Justine Heil and Lasse Becker (violin), Juliane Vogelsang (Arts Management), Gesa Winkler, Eva Henriette Hermerschmidt, Pedram Ghaffari, and Jonas Witt (musicology), Karl Winkelbauer (guitar), Lucie Marei Müller (vocals), and Benedikt Strasser (horn). In addition, there are three scholarships from the NEW LISZT FOUNDATION / Carin Riesen Foundation for Enrique Rodrigues (violin), Tami Benecke (jazz singing), and Samuel Glowka (musicology).

Two other foundations are each providing two scholarships: The Ernst Abbe Foundation is supporting Pijus Cesaitis (violin) and Friederike Schick (clarinet). Helena Jensch (improvised singing) and Florian Fischer (jazz drum set) will benefit from the Hans Thomann Foundation. Dr. Aldinger & Fischer Grundbesitz- und Vermarktungs GmbH is also providing two scholarships for Alrun Sawallisch (singing) and Elina Serebriakova (piano).

In addition, there are donors who make individual scholarships possible through their commitment: Luca Siede (school music) receives a Germany Scholarship with the support of Prof. Roland Merten and Prof. Ada Sasse, while Anselm Siebelitz (cello) is delighted to receive funding from Dr. Joachim Löhr and Monika Löhr. Another scholarship is being awarded to Luisa Baier (piano), sponsored by Dr. Eberbach-Born and Prof. Eberbach.
