22 participants in the 2nd round of the "6th International FRANZ LISZT Competition | Young Pianists"
Out of 37 participants from around 20 countries, a total of 22 have qualified for the second round. Ten participants of the youngest category I will play on Monday, 30 October in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar for a place in the final. Twelve of the older Category II pianists will present themselves to the experienced ears of the international jury on Tuesday, 31 October and Wednesday, 1 November.
Until 5 November, the young talents will compete in three rounds and two age categories for prizes worth a total of more than 10,000 euros. All rounds are open to the public with free admission.
Starting with the second round on Monday, 30 October, the competition will also be livestreamed on the university website www.hfm-weimar.de and on the university's YouTube channel.
At the final concert of the competition, the prize-winners will perform with a large orchestra on Sunday, 5 November at 5 p.m. in the Weimarhalle. Tickets at 20 euros, reduced rate 15 euros, are already available in advance at the Tourist Information Weimar and at the box office.
The orchestra of the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere will play together with musicians of the Staatskapelle Weimar under the direction of Joan Pagès Valls.
The competition is organised by the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar together with the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere as its centre for highly gifted students.
