Concert, lessons and talks at the 2nd Thuringian Accordion Day
The Accordion Department at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar is organising the second Thuringian Accordion Day in cooperation with the Thuringian State Association of the DALV (Deutscher Akkordeonlehrer-Verband e.V.).
This day of exchange and encounters with the accordion on Saturday, 1 June from 9:00 a.m. to at least 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Beethovenhaus Belvedere is intended to reach and appeal to learners and teachers alike. Admission to the Accordion Day is free.
‘This day thrives on the give and take of the generations,’ says Weimar accordion professor Claudia Buder, organiser and host. ‘The youngest members of the community are invited to listen to what is important for the older ones - the students in training.’
In a welcoming concert at 10.00 a.m. and a closing concert at 5.00 p.m., the accordion students of the university will present the variety of sounding possibilities on their instrument.
This day is also of particular interest to teachers at music schools, who can experience their own students in the training process - as they are taught in public by the Weimar students. The seven teaching units start at 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.
This observation can lead to questions such as: How do I experience the lessons? What is taught? What can I learn? ‘The open lessons are then reflected on together, enabling a development process for all participants,’ explains Claudia Buder.
The shared experience of music and education serves to build bridges between different training centres and offers space for questions and answers relating to accordion training and development. There are already registrations for this second edition of the Thuringian Accordion Day from Bavaria, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
‘The interest shows that the Thuringian Accordion Day can make the future possible,’ says Claudia Buder. In addition to the concerts and lesson evaluation, there will be time and space for discussions and brainstorming.
