Exchange and networking
Symposium of German professors of scenic teaching in Weimar
For the first time, the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar is offering a valuable platform for in-depth professional exchange in the fields of music theatre/scene: From 23 to 25 May, a symposium of professors of scenic instruction will take place at the Department of Vocal Studies and Theatre Belvedere. Teachers from Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Detmold, Bremen, Mannheim, Dresden, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Leipzig and Weimar are among those represented.
The conference in the Jenny Fleischer Alt Hall in the Beethoven House Belvedere will focus on current developments in teaching and networking among colleagues from various universities.
The symposium will open on Friday, 23 May with a reception in the Senate Hall of the historic Fürstenhaus of the Weimar Music University. On Saturday, the programme will feature a variety of discussion panels dedicated to key topics such as innovative teaching methods, sustainable project development and interdisciplinary cooperation.
A special focus will be on the practice-oriented workshop on intimacy coordination for teachers, led by Düsseldorf junior professor Hanna Werth.
Prof. Werth had already held an internal workshop with students and teachers at the Weimar Music University on the subject of intimacy coordination at the beginning of May. ‘The practical examination of this topic provides valuable impetus for reflective and responsible teaching in the performing arts,’ explains Weimar professor of music theatre/stage, Jochen Biganzoli, who initiated the symposium.
The symposium will conclude on Sunday, 25 May with a round of reflections in the Fürstenhaus. Feedback will be exchanged, experiences analysed and perspectives for future cooperation between the departments discussed. ‘As the organiser of the conference, I am looking forward to lively participation and an inspiring, collegial exchange,’ says Jochen Biganzoli. Professors from 16 different music universities throughout Germany have registered to attend.
