Study information:Undergraduate studies for teacher training in grammar schools / dual-subject degree in Music, designed to prepare students for careers in music education, including fields such as music journalism, music management and amateur music-making, as well as to prepare them for the subsequent Master of Education programme
This programme is run in cooperation with Friedrich Schiller University Jena, where students must take the subject/module in Educational Sciences.
To enter the teaching profession at grammar schools, completion of the consecutive Master of Education programme and a teaching placement are required.

Acquisition of fundamental knowledge and skills in the fields of art, music education and educational science, as well as completion of a practical placement
Specialist art subject, ensemble and career-oriented individual tuition, ensemble workAny instrument offered by the college, as well as singing and practical piano teaching, may be chosen as a specialism.
Prerequisite:General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), passed aptitude test, proof of language level C1 (for foreign applicants); introductory internship

Study information:Consecutive degree programme in secondary school teaching / dual-subject degree in music, designed to prepare students for their teaching placement and subsequent career as a music teacher in secondary schools
This degree programme is run in cooperation with Friedrich Schiller University Jena, where students must take the subject/module in Educational Science.
The skills acquired also enable graduates to work in the fields of private music tuition, music education, music journalism, music management, amateur music-making, as well as in cultural offices and authorities.
Degree:Master of Education (M.Ed.)Standard period of study:4 SemesterContent:Deepening of knowledge and skills in artistic, pedagogical, educational and musicological subjects, with a focus on developing an individual profile
Artistic specialism, ensemble work and career-oriented individual tuitionAny instrument offered by the college, as well as singing and practical piano teaching, may be chosen as a specialism.
Prerequisite:Subject-specific bachelor's or diploma degree, passed aptitude test, proof of language level C1 (for foreign applicants)

Prerequisite:Completed, relevant Master's degree, state examination, Master's degree or scientific diploma, with a minimum grade of ‘good’; foreign examinations are recognised if they are equivalent to a German degree.
