  • studied in Freiburg/ Breisgau (Christoph Henkel), London (Michael Evans, Anthony Pleeth and Charles Medlam), Düsseldorf (Johannes Goritzki), Cologne (musicology for one year) and The Hague (baroque cello with Jaap ter Linden)
  • scholarships for three of his five years studying outside of Germany from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
  • further important influences through master classes with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Siegfried Palm und Anner Bylsma
  • as soloist and chamber musician collaboration with colleagues such as Emma Kirkby, Derek Lee Ragin, Gloria Banditelli, Andrew Manze, Rachel Podger, Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen, Anton Steck, Kati Debretzeni, Alfredo Bernardini, Dorothee Oberlinger, Rachel Brown, Sergio Azzolini, Fabio Bonizzoni and James Johnstone
  • principal cellist in the ensembles "La Stravaganza Köln", "Ciaccona" London, "La Risonanza" Milano, "ornamente 99", "Collegium Cartusianum" (Peter Neumann), "Ensemble 1700" (Dorothee Oberlinger), "Musica fiata" (Roland Wilson) and, from 2008 to 2013, "English Baroque Soloists" (Sir John Eliot Gardiner)
  • 1998–2016 Musical Director of the baroque ensemble "caterva musica"
  • since 2007 principal cellist "Capella Thuringia" (Bernhard Klapprott)
  • since 2007 member "Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique" (Sir John Eliot Gardiner)
  • Teaching in Germany, Brazil and Hungary as well as at music academies in London (Royal College of Music), Stuttgart and Rostock
  • since 2007 teacher of baroque cello, chamber music and performance practice at the Department of Early Music of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • 2018 awarded the title of professor
