Ricardo Jesus Gallén Garcia was born in Linares, Spain in 1972
He had his first guitar lesson at the age of four, and only one year later he gave his first public concerts in his hometown of Linares
Gallén Garcia studied music at the conservatoires in Cordoba, Granada and Madrid
In addition to performing a number of solo recitals, he has appeared as a soloist with many of the leading orchestras of Europe, Russia, Argentina, Chile and the USA
He has been both a teacher and soloist at many renowned international guitar festivals, and has presented master classes on the guitar throughout Europe
Mr Gallén Garcia has produced five CD recordings for the NAXOS label
He has won a number of prizes in more than 20 international competitions, which include five 1st prizes, and an array of special awards at the most renowned international guitar competitions
Gallén Garcia was professor of guitar at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, as well as at the University of Extremadura in Cáceres, Spanien
Since 2009 he is the Professor of guitar at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar succeeding Prof. Monika Rost
