First Day of Teaching
New ideas for teachers and students on 13 November
The University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar warmly invites teachers and students to the first Day of Teaching on Wednesday, 13 November, at the Hochschulzentrum am Horn. Under the motto ‘Impulses for Teaching: Communication, AI and Creative Innovations’, the day offers a platform for exchanging teaching and learning experiences as well as new didactic concepts in the form of lectures, workshops and discussions.

Teaching arises from the dynamic between teachers and students. Teachers contribute experience, knowledge and pedagogical concepts, while students help shape teaching practice through their interaction and their own impulses. The Day of Teaching is therefore aimed equally at both groups.
The day will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with an exciting workshop by Dr. Björn Kiehne (TU Berlin), who will shed light on the importance of one's own learning biography. In his keynote and workshop ‘Biography teaches with you – telling your own learning story and learning more about yourself through learning and teaching’, he invites participants to reflect on their personal learning and teaching experiences.
A special highlight of the day is the participation of employees of the Network 4.0 Music Conservatories, who will present teaching materials as part of a ‘gallery walk’ and offer a workshop on the topic of ‘Didactic scenarios and profitable application scenarios for remote teaching in artistic teaching’.
In addition, the programme offers a series of other workshops dedicated to current topics such as artificial intelligence and its use in teaching. Prof. Jörn Arnecke, Prof. Anna Wolf and Dorothea Warneck provide insights into topics such as AI and historical composition, musical internet phenomena in higher education didactics, and AI as a sparring partner for scientific writing.
The complete programme and further information will follow shortly.
