Slide Adventure

Second trombone festival with guests from Berlin

The second edition of a new trombone festival in Weimar is aimed at trombone enthusiasts of all ages: On the weekend of November 7–9, 2025, the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar will once again host “Slide Adventure” in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus.

The wide-ranging target groups include schoolchildren and amateurs from trombone choirs and associations, as well as students and professionals. Weimar offers all participants a unique opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and make music together.

As with the successful premiere in 2024, the artistic and organizational direction is in the hands of Weimartrombone professor Christian Sprenger

While last year's guest was the Würzburg trombone class, this time Prof. Louise Pollock's class from the University of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin has accepted Christian Sprenger's invitation. Severo Martínez from Porto (Portugal) and Antonio Yeste (the Music High School Schloss Belvedere) will also be participating as guest lecturers.

The program includes public lessons, workshops, seminars, chamber music sessions, and joint morning warm-ups for all participants and teachers.

The festival begins on Friday, November 7, at 6:30 p.m. with the opening concert of the Weimar trombone class in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus, followed by a concert by the Berlin trombone class on November 8 at 6:30 p.m. Slide Adventure culminates on Sunday, November 9, at 5:00 p.m. with a joint final concert by all participants. Admission to all concerts is free.

Cooperation partner of the “Slide Adventure” is the International Trombone Association (IPV).
