Uwe Schenker-Primus obtained his initial musical experience in the Windsbacher Knabenchor under Church Music Director K.-F. Beringer. He completed his singing studies under Professor Monika Bürgener at the University of Music in 2006, graduating with an opera and concert diploma. He has won prizes at various competitions. Concerts of oratorio works from Monteverdi through to contemporary music, such as Penderecki’s St. Luke Passion or Adams’ Wound Dresser, and premieres and concerts of operas and operettas have enabled him to work with conductors like Jörg Straube, Christian Kabitz, Daniel Klajner, Markus Poschner‚ Enrique Mazzola, Stefan Solyom, Kiril Karabits, and others. Since March 2017, he has systematically recorded the complete works of the composers Pfitzner and Korngold on Naxos, with the pianist Klaus Simon. From 2005-2009, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Mainfrankentheatre in Würzburg. Since the 2009/10 season, he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, and can be heard singing the major parts within his field.
