Berghausen Scholarship for Singing

The Liszt Foundation will award several monthly scholarships of 400 euros each from the estate of Hans-Dietmar Berghausen to students majoring in voice, especially in the subjects mezzo-soprano and soprano, as of April 1, 2024.

The scholarship promotes the artistic training of excellent young vocal students.


Application requirements are:

  • Enrollment at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar, or
  • Education at the Highly Gifted Centre of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar at the Music High School Schloss Belvedere
  • studies of the main subject singing
  • proven excellent artistic performance


Applications must include:

  • Details of artistic/educational background
  • letter of motivation
  • a meaningful assessment of the artistic achievements and eligibility for funding by the main subject teacher
  • Proof of need
