  • Born in Altenburg in 1980
  • Played Cello as a pupil in the Young Student Class of Prof. Wolfgang Weber at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy School of Music in Leipzig
  • He majored in contrabass performance as a student of Prof. Horst-Dieter Wenkel at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • Supplementary courses with Wolfgang Güttler, Klaus Stoll and Norbert Brainin among others
  • Received a scholarship from the PE-Förderkreis Mannheim
  • He succeeded in numerous competition including the 2nd  International Johann Matthias Sperger Competition in 2002, semi-finalist at the 52nd International ARD Competition in 2003, the Award of the Patronatsgesellschaft from the Carl Flesch Akademy in Baden-Baden und 2nd prize in the International Instrumental Competition in Markneukeirchen in 2005
  • Performed with a number of orchestras as soloist including the Alternburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he has also worked in collaboration with the Gaede Trio and with the Petersen Quartet
  • From 2005 to 2007 he was the solo contrabassist of the Saxon State Orchestra in Dresden
  • since 2008 he has been the solo contrabassist of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra
  • since 2009 he has been the visiting professor for contrabass at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • He has performed as guest solo contrabassist with the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin State Orchestra, the Bavarian State Orchestra (the official orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera), as well as the WDR Symphony Orchestra
