Honorary Professor for Violin and Orchestral Studies Violin

  • Born in Kronstadt (Brasov), Transylvania; had first violin lessen at the age of six
  • Studied in Romania with Prof. M. Voicu, I. Ionescu-Galati and Stefan Gheorghiu, as well as with Prof. Karl Suske (a member of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig), Vladimir Malinin (Moscow) and Wolfgang Marschner (Weimar)
  • He gave his first concert in 1984 in Kronstadt; was the concert master of the most distinguished chamber orchestra in Romania "The Virtuosi from Bucharest", as well as the concert master of the National Philharmonic, "George Enescu", in Bucharest
  • In 1990 he received the position as principal concert master of the Jena Philharmonic; at the same time he was concert master of the "Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia" (Italy) and of the “European Music Project” in Ulm
  • He has received a number of competition awards, including fist prize at the Romanian National Competition (1985 and 1987)
  • He is credited with numerous television, radio and CD productions
  • He has performed not only in Germany, but also throughout Europe, the Far East and in the USA
  • Since 1999, he has been teaching at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and teaches chamber music and violin in Germany, Spain Italy and Romania
  • Since December 2009, he has been an honorary professor for violin at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
