Public conference of the Cultural Management program on sustainability in the cultural sector

The aim is to create an understanding of sustainability in the cultural sector: The Cultural Management course at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar invites you to a public conference on Saturday, November 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus. In lectures and workshops with selected experts, practice-oriented, individual solutions for the various cultural areas will be developed and basic knowledge will be imparted.

Prof. Dr. Benjamin-Immanuel Hoff, Minister for Culture, Federal and European Affairs and Head of the Thuringian State Chancellery, and the Vice President for Digitization and Internationalization of the Weimar University of Music, Dr. Jens Ewen, will give welcoming addresses. 

Erfurt's Head of Cultural Affairs, Dr. Tobias J. Knoblich, will then open the conference with a keynote speech. This will be followed by two lectures, including "Is this culture or can it go? World Heritage in the area of conflict between climate change, use and sustainability" by Friederike von Rosenberg, Director of Palaces, Gardens and Buildings at the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. Jakob Ripp, Assistant for Sustainability Management at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, will also give a lecture on "Sustainable production at the theater - a climate-neutral play, is that possible?"

A panel discussion entitled "Mastering the sustainable transformation - what do we need for the future?" will begin at 12:00 a.m. Three moderated workshops are planned after the lunch break. The topics on offer are "From carbon accounting, circular economy and corporate sustainability management - from talk to action" and "Gender Equity - Workshop & Networking - Interactive workshop on female participation in the music industry". Another topic will be "Sustainability communication - cultural enterprises as ambassadors". 

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for informal discussions. The Cultural Management course describes the end of the conference as follows: "In the evening, there will be the opportunity to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere with disco nostalgia, bassy funk and pulsating garage house from DJ Phoebe."
