Grand finale

Seven participants play for the prizes in the 3rd round of the Liszt Competition live and in the livestream

The jury has just made its decision: A total of seven participants of the "6th International Franz Liszt Competition | Young Pianists" have made it to the competition finals. They will play piano concertos by Joseph Haydn and Edvard Grieg on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3, both starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Festsaal Fürstenhaus of the Weimar Musikhochschule.

They will be assisted by the orchestra of the Music High School Schloss Belvedere, conducted by Joan Pagès Valls. Admission is free! The finale will also be broadcast live on www.hfm-weimar.de

On Thursday, November 2, the four finalists of the youngest category I will perform Joseph Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major Hob. XVIII:11. On Friday, November 3, the older participants of category II will perform Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor op. 16. 

The prize winners' concert with a large orchestra will follow on Sunday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the Weimarhalle. Tickets at 20 euros, reduced 15 euros, are already available in advance at the Tourist Information Weimar and at the box office. The orchestra of the Music High School Schloss Belvedere will play together with musicians of the Staatskapelle Weimar under the direction of Joan Pagès Valls.

The competition is organized by the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar together with the Music High School Schloss Belvedere as its center for highly gifted students.
