Weimar Children's University starts its winter semester with a varied campus day

The Weimar Children's University starts the winter semester with its popular campus day for school classes. The lecture halls of the Bauhaus University Weimar and the concert halls of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar will be hosting a colourful variety of lectures on Thursday, 28 September 2023, starting at 8:30 am

Pupils from the 4th and 5th classes can look forward to the following lectures: "Learning - but with brains" with Alexandra Vorik and "Voice acrobatics - we discover our voice" with Eva-Marie Schmitt, both from the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar. In addition, Dr. med. Katrin Deutsch from the gynaecological practice in Erfurt will talk about "Where do I actually come from?

Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch, patron of the Weimar Children's University, will speak to pupils in the 6th and 7th grades on the topic of "Robots in Space". Gianluca Pandolfo will arouse curiosity with "The exciting world of computer games", and "I see something you don't see" will be the topic of Prof. Dr. Conrad Völker's talk - both from the Bauhaus University Weimar.

The events at the Campus Day are all free of charge. To get a taste of university life, the children can have lunch in the canteen of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Since space is limited, the Children's University team asks for early registration.

The Children's University Weimar is organised by a group of sponsors. This includes the FRANZ LISZT University of Music Weimar, the Bauhaus University Weimar, the German National Theatre Weimar, the Adult Education Centre Weimar, the Children's Office and the Office for Family and Social Affairs of the City of Weimar.

The patron of the Children's University Weimar is the astrophysicist, natural philosopher and science journalist Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch.
