Wagner and Williams

New episode of the podcast "Liszten" with the university chancellor Christine Gurk

In the sixth episode of LISZTEN, host Christofer Hameister talks to Christine Gurk.

As Chancellor of the Weimar University of Music, Christine Gurk is the guardian of finances. When she came to the HfM, numbers played a bigger role in her life than music. That quickly changed when she attended the first concerts by Weimar students.

In the podcast, Christine Gurk talks about the challenges the university has faced in the course of her 20 or so years of work and about those that still await us. There's no shortage of rousing gushes about Richard Wagner and Robbie Williams. Listen in and learn something about the administrative work at the university that otherwise doesn't reach everyone's ears.

In the 150th anniversary year of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, the new podcast "Liszten" was launched. We do not look back on our history, but talk to the people who shape the HfM today.

Who teaches, studies and works here? How did they find their way to music and to the HfM? And what drives them apart from music? Every month, different people from the fields of study, teaching and administration have their say - unfiltered and honest.

Presenter Christofer Hameister studied school music at the University of Music in Weimar and completed his journalistic traineeship at Antenne Thüringen in Weimar. Since 2019, he has been presenting various radio and television programs for Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb).
