Justas Dvarionas

He is the grandchild of the composer Balys Dvarionas, an esteemed Lithuanian composer of the last century – his grandmother also began giving him music lessons as of the age of two. Justas Dvarionas appears yet again as a judge at the Weimar Liszt-Competition for young pianists. His education led him initially from 1985 to 1991 to the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory followed later by further studies as well as numerous master classes under renowned pianists. Throughout his career, Dvarionas has been a guest as both a soloist and with orchestras in the USA, Canada, Russia, Bulgaria, Great Britain and many other European countries. In an impressive radio and TV production in 2005 he showed his versatility as a soloist as well as with a chamber orchestra not only on piano but also on harpsichord and various organs. In addition to this, Justas Dvarionas is regularly invited to judge piano competitions and is also involved in the organisation EMCY (European Music Competitions for Youth).
