Our shelves contain around 150,000 books, sheet music, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and magazines from all areas of music (e.g. classical, popular music and jazz) and cultural management. We also have a large stock of digital resources such as databases, e-journals and e-books.
The library is open to the public. The holdings are available to anyone interested in researching, learning or reading. Borrowing is only possible for members of the HfM as well as members and affiliates of another Thuringian university after prior registration.
New Bookeye overhead scanner in the library
The long and eagerly awaited overhead scanner is finally available in the branch library.
The advantages are:
- No more Thoska needed, a USB stick is sufficient.
- Books and sheet music no longer have to be pressed onto the glass pane of the old photocopier. This protects the books.
- The scanner can scan right into the book fold.
- You can see the scan result immediately on the integrated touchscreen.
- The tedious "open cover - insert book - close cover - scan - open cover - lift book - turn pages - place book - close cover..." is no longer necessary.
Now it's "insert book - turn page - scan - turn page - scan - turn page...".
Of course, you can also use our other copiers/scanners as usual.
Stream sheet music with the nkoda app
You can register via the university login and access over 100,000 sheet music titles from more than 120 publishers.
The following link will take you to the library's title list.
Every month you will find a new selection of works that fit in with the musical events in Weimar.
Have fun discovering!
