Orchestra of the FRANZ LISZT University

Passionate about music, they work hard for professional success: each term, the students taking degrees in orchestral instruments come together in this large orchestra, to dedicate themselves to the treasures and hidden gemstones of music history, in fresh interpretations with youthful drive. In addition to its principal conductor Nicolás Pasquet, the orchestra of the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar regularly works with guest conductors of international renown such as Marek Janowski or Christian Thielemann. The great symphonic works from Haydn to Mahler are time and again complemented by solo concertos from the twentieth century. The soloists are most often very advanced students at the Franz Liszt University, who complete an important part of their concert diploma - the highest performance degree - in these concerts.
