  • Musical education by Fritz Berger (Chemnitz) and Heinz Volger (Leipzig)
  • From 1969 to 1975 studied at the Tschaikowski-Conservatoire in Moskau with Jakow Sak, Elisso Wirssaladse and Tatjana Nikolaewa
  • Concerts as a soloist and chamber musician as well as giving master classes
  • Jury member in European and Asian countries
  • Teaches his courses in German, Russian and English
  • Since 1994 Professor of Piano at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • Specialises in piano works from Bach to Schubert
  • Head of the Department of Keyboard Instruments and Early Music in 2002
  • Initiator and Artistic Director of the International FRANZ LISZT Competition for Young Pianists, that first took place from 24th February to 1st March 2005 in Weimar
