  • Drew attention to himself in numerous competitions as early as during his studies with David Geringas and Aldo Parisot
  • Received, for example, the Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris at the Rostropovitch competition and, in addition, the prize for contemporary music
  • Won also the prize at the German Music Competition in Bonn and the 1st prize at the International Australian Cello Competition in New Zealand
  • Prize winner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow as well as at the International Leonard Rose Cello Competition in the USA
  • Given concerts in Europe, Russia and the USA as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore and Houston Symphony Orchestras and Philharmonia Prag under the direction of conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Marek Janowski, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Gerd Albrecht, Michael Sanderling, Markus Poschner, Gabriel Feltz and Andrey Boreyko
  • Equally prized as a guest at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen, at the Rheingau Music Festival and at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, where he gave cooperative concerts with Christoph Eschenbach
  • Since 2009 Professor of Cello at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
